ASSET Initiative Executive Management Team
The Arkansas EPSCoR Executive Management Team is headed by Program Director, Dr. Gail McClure who serves as the PI for the Arkansas ASSET Initiative RII. Dr. McClure is responsible for overall program management and directs all outreach and oversight of professional development efforts. Dr. Carole Cramer, Director of the Arkansas BioSciences Institute, Arkansas State University, (ccramer@astate.edu) and Dr. Vijay Varadan, 21st Century Endowed Chair in Nano- and Bio-Technologies and Medicine, University of Arkansas (vjvesm@engr.uark.edu), serve as Co-PIs and Technical Leaders. The Co-PIs are responsible for research leadership, inter-university collaborations, and mentoring. Dr. Elizabeth Hood (ASU) ehood@astate.edu, Dr. Keith Hudson (UALR) mkhudson@ualr.edu , and Dr. John Hehr (UA) jghehr@uark.edu serve as Campus Coordinator/Administrators to ensure project implementation and information flow between campuses and the Arkansas Science & Technology Authority. The Executive Management Team receives the support of an External Advisory Board (PDF) and two Technical Advisory Committees specific to the two research focal areas.
