NASA - Arkansas Space Grant Consortium is currently accepting proposals for the Collaborative Research Program.
NIH/IDEA (INBRE/COBRE) - INBRE applications for Mentored Research Program to increase the number of college and university faculty in Arkansas with active, funded research programs in biomedical science, and to increase the number of undergraduate students in Arkansas who pursue careers in biomedical science are currently being accepted.
The National Institutes of Health also provides through the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) funding for Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) from investigators at independent biomedical research institutions or research institutions that award doctoral degrees in the health sciences. These are large institutional grants and should be coordinated with the state NIH/IDEA program director.
USDA & EPA - No funds are available at the present time.
Education Outreach - The purpose of the Authority’s educational initiatives is to enrich STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education throughout the state of Arkansas and to promote the STEM career pipeline. Through the SMART Program, the Authority supports new educational strategies that make curriculum resources electronically available and provides quality technology training for teachers. The STEM Program uses a number of strategies to promote the STEM career pipeline. Awards in this program establish new Robotics centers and engage student teams in robotics competitions, provide advance technology and curriculum workshops for STEM teachers and provide awards for equipment to be used for STEM specialty projects developed by Arkansas teachers. The Science Minigrants and STUART Programs provide equipment and supplies for hands-on inquiry activities in middle school science classrooms throughout the state.
Faculty/Student Exchange Program The ASSET Initiative (NSF EPSCoR Track-1) has stipends/awards available which support extended stays at locations distant from the researcher’s home campus. For additional details and forms, please see the Faculty/Student Exchange Program.
